Please be our guest, September 2nd, Sunday--Labor Day Weekend... We are celebrating the end of summer and the beginning of a new season. As things start to cool down for the Lotus-Coloma Valley, everything is heating up at Lotus D'Or! We will say good bye to our summertime visitors in a celebration of music and dance with our friends at Marco's Cafe.

Marcos' Cafe "End of Season" Hafla!!
What is a hafla? It's a belly dance party! We don't limit it to just belly dance, though. Anyone who wants to get up and groove is welcome!  American Tribal Style belly dance troupe MANASA from Sacramento makes it's bi-annual return to close our tourist season here in Lotus! Sister student troupe SARPIKA will also join in the performances, as well as guest dancers. SARPIKA members Margo and Bethie will also solo. Melanie and Elmar will be back to perform dance and music, as well as being our talented sound technicians. Live drummers will keep the excitement going and open-floor dancing is encouraged between performances. Don't miss out on the best Summer dance party in El Dorado County! If you are coming from out-oftown for the holiday weekend, there are lots of great campsites as well as the Sierra Nevada House. Afro-Colombian Workshop with Master Instructor: Xiomara Salinas! Sept 15th 11:00am-1:00pm
Renowned and award winning dancer Xiomara will make a special appearance in Lotus! She currently teaches at the prestigious "ODC" Dance Commons in San Francisco. Xiomara has been studying Afro-Colombian dances such as Cumbia, Mapale, and Currulao since childhood.She also teaches Colombian style Salsa, and also dances Samba, Flamenco, and Belly Dance. Cost of workshop is $25 in advance and $30 at the door.
